How to Install Extensions in Undetectable and Manage Them via Extension Manager
Before launching ads, it is important to check whether the pixel works on the landing page and whether there are any errors in events. Meta Ads Data Advisor can help with this — a Meta extension previously known as Meta Pixel Helper. Add it once to Extension Manager — Undetectable’s extension manager. The installed extension automatically appears in all existing and new profiles. You do not need to select profiles separately or repeat the installation in each one.
Let’s look at how to install an extension from the Chrome Web Store or from a file, check that it works, and manage the set through Extension Manager. We will separately show the procedure for bulk adding to profiles and explain what to check if the extension did not appear or does not work on a website.
What you need to know before installation
Start with one extension for a specific task. In this guide, we will use Meta Ads Data Advisor (formerly Meta Pixel Helper): it helps detect issues in the setup of the pixel and events on a website. This tool is useful when checking your landing page before launching an ad campaign. Extension page in the Chrome Web Store
You do not need to install extensions for functions that are already available in Undetectable. For example, for regular cookie import or export, you can use the browser’s built-in tools.
The scenario described below is intended for profiles on the Chromium core. The outdated WebEngine core does not support extensions. If you are using a profile created a long time ago and the extension does not appear in it, check this point.
Before adding an extension, check who the developer is and what permissions it requests. For our example, the Chrome Web Store should list Meta as the publisher. A diagnostics tool may require access to the working website. Compare the requested permissions with the purpose of the extension before granting access.
1 Open the extension manager
In the main Undetectable window, click Extensions in the left sidebar — the item with the puzzle icon. The Extensions Manager window will open. If you have not added any extensions yet, the table will be empty.
The table has three main columns: Name — the extension name, Version — its version, Status — its state. Search helps you find the needed extension when the list becomes longer. The plus button to the right above the table opens the add dialog, and the trash button deletes the selected extensions.
Extensions can also be managed inside a running profile. The manager in the application is needed for adding and group actions, while the chrome://extensions page inside the profile is used to check installation, permissions, and the state of a specific extension. We will start with the manager.
2 Add an extension from the Chrome Web Store
If you have a link to the extension in the Chrome store, you do not need to download it as a separate file.
- Open the page of the needed extension in the Chrome Web Store. In our example, this is Meta Ads Data Advisor by Meta. Check the name and developer, then copy the page address. You need the link to the extension itself, not to the search results.

-
Return to Extensions Manager and click the plus button — add extension.
-
In the New Extensions window, select the Chrome Web Store tab.
-
Paste the address into the Chrome Web Store URLs field and click Add.
- Wait for the extension to appear in the table. Check the name in Name and the state in Status: an enabled extension is marked as Active. If it is disabled, select the row, right-click it, and choose Enable — turn on.
To add several extensions at once, paste their links into the field, each on a new line. After adding them, check that all needed names are present: one extension appearing is not enough to consider the entire set installed.
Installing an extension in regular Chrome on your computer does not replace adding it to Undetectable. When checking the result, open the Undetectable profile specifically.

3 Use a file or folder if necessary
Uploading from a file is useful if the developer has sent you an extension directly or you are installing an internal team tool. Extension Manager accepts .crx and .zip, as well as a folder with an unpacked extension.
-
Click the plus button in the manager and go to the Upload File tab.
-
If you have a .crx or .zip file, click Select files and choose it. If you have a ready unpacked folder, click Select folder and specify that folder. You can also drag files or a folder into the dashed area.
-
After selecting, check the result in the Extensions Manager table. On the Upload File tab, there is no separate Add button like when adding a link from the store.
Choose the ready-to-install extension specifically. For example, a ZIP with the project source code is not always suitable for installation: it may need to be built first. For an unpacked extension, choose the folder that contains manifest.json — the file with the extension description. If you are not sure, ask the developer which package is intended for installation.
Did the extension appear in the table and is it active? Proceed to checking it in a profile. You do not need to add it again through another tab.
4 Check the extension in a running profile
After adding the extension, launch the profile you plan to work in. If it was already open, close it in the usual way and launch it again to check the result on a fresh start.
- In the profile’s address bar, open chrome://extensions. This is the browser’s internal page with the list of extensions.
-
Open your landing page with the Meta pixel installed and click the Meta Ads Data Advisor icon. Check whether the extension detects the pixel and shows diagnostic information. If there are event warnings, review them: the installed extension helps identify the problem, but its presence alone does not confirm that the website setup is correct.
-
Open your landing page with Meta Pixel installed and open the extension via the icon on the browser toolbar. Check the diagnostic results and messages about event issues. This lets you test the tool on a real task before launching ads.
Check it on a website, not on an empty tab, settings page, or in the extension store itself. Such pages have restrictions. If there is no Meta pixel on the landing page, the absence of data about it does not mean the extension was installed incorrectly. For testing, use a page where the pixel is actually configured.
If there is no Meta Pixel on the page, the fact that no pixel is found does not by itself mean an installation error. Test it on a suitable landing page, not on an empty tab, settings page, or in the extension store. Browser diagnostics do not replace checking event delivery in Events Manager.
If there is no icon next to the address bar
The absence of an icon does not necessarily mean the installation failed. Open the extensions menu with the puzzle icon, find the tool, and pin it to the toolbar if this option is available. If it is not in the menu either, return to chrome://extensions and check that the extension is present and its state.
If the extension does not work on the website
Open its card on chrome://extensions and check the site access permissions. Access may be granted only after clicking the icon or only for selected addresses. Allow it to work on the required website if this is necessary for the extension’s function, and refresh the page.

Extension Manager automatically distributes installed extensions to all existing and new profiles. For example, by adding Meta Ads Data Advisor once, you will be able to check your landing pages from different work profiles without reinstalling it. You do not need to install the extension separately in each profile or select a list of profiles in the manager.

To install one extension in all profiles, add one link or file to the manager. If you need a set of several extensions, paste their links into Chrome Web Store URLs, each on a new line. This way you can add several tools at the same time and make them available in profiles.
-
Add the needed extension or set through Extension Manager.
-
Find the added names in the table and check Status.
-
If several extensions are disabled, select the needed rows and apply Enable in the context menu. Here you select the extensions to which the action will be applied.
-
Perform the initial setup where it is needed: grant access to the working website or sign in to the service if the selected function requires it.
Automatic installation distributes the extensions themselves. Initial setup may be required inside each profile: for example, granting access to a website or choosing a work account in an extension that requires authorization. The presence of an extension does not mean you are already signed in to the required service in it.

After adding a new set, first check that it works in one profile, then continue working in the others. This is a result check, not selecting profiles for installation: extensions from the manager are already distributed to them automatically.

How to disable an extension and enable it again
Disabling is convenient when an extension is temporarily not needed or you are checking whether it is causing a website to work incorrectly. For example, an ad blocker may hide a page element needed for checking an ad account.
-
Open Extension Manager and find the extension.
-
Select it, right-click, and choose Disable — turn off. For a group action, select the needed rows first.
-
Check the status change. Restart the profile and repeat the action that was causing the problem.
-
To return the extension to work, choose Enable — turn on — in the same menu.
A disabled extension remains in the manager list: you do not need to search for it and upload it again. Before a group command, check the selection so you do not accidentally disable another working tool.
If you want to check a conflict only in one open profile, use the extension toggle on chrome://extensions inside that window and refresh the problematic page. After the next launch, check the state again. Commands from the general manager are distributed to profiles centrally, so disabling through it should not be used as a setting for only one window.
How to remove an unnecessary extension
Use deletion when you have decided to stop using a tool. If the task is to pause its work briefly or check a conflict, disabling it first is enough.
In Extension Manager, select the extension and click the trash button, or choose Delete in the context menu. To delete several extensions, select their rows before running the command. This action from the general manager applies to profiles: use it when the tool is no longer needed across the entire set. After deletion, check the manager list and the result in a newly launched profile.
Before deleting, check whether the extension stores data or its own settings that are important to you. If it has an export function, save what you need through it. Reinstalling the extension itself does not guarantee that its data will be restored.
What to do with an old extension on Manifest V2
Manifest is a file with the extension description, its capabilities, and permissions. Older extensions may use the Manifest V2 format. Undetectable provides the Enable old extensions support option for it.
If the browser message indicates incompatibility with an old extension, first check whether the developer has released a new version. If you specifically need the old version for work, find Enable old extensions support in the application settings and enable support. Then restart the profile and check the extension.
You do not need to enable this option for every new extension. It relates to support for the old format and will not fix an incorrect link, a damaged archive, or the lack of permission to work with a website.
How to check an extension version
The version in the Version column helps you understand which build has been added to the manager. To check in a specific profile, open chrome://extensions. If the tool works for a colleague but not for you, compare the versions and settings.
Updating the Undetectable application and updating a specific extension are different actions. If the tool has stopped working, check its store page or the developer’s instructions. For an extension received as a file, ask the author where to get the current build and how to update it while preserving data.
Do not delete the extension as the first action for the sake of updating: first save important settings and find out the update method provided by the developer.
If installation did not work (Q&A)
The extension did not appear in the manager
Check the link: it must lead to the page of a specific extension in the Chrome Web Store. When uploading a file, make sure you selected a .crx, .zip, or a folder with a ready extension. Repeat the addition with one tool so it is clear what the error relates to.
The extension is missing from the profile
Check whether it is enabled in the manager, then restart the profile. Open chrome://extensions specifically in the required window. For an old profile, additionally check the core: WebEngine does not support extensions.
After installation, the website started working incorrectly
Temporarily disable the most recently added extension and refresh the page. If the problem disappears, check its access settings and site exceptions. Turn extensions back on one by one: this makes it easier to find the conflicting tool.
The problem remains
To contact support, prepare the Undetectable version, the extension name and version, the installation method, and the exact error text. Specify whether the problem repeats in another profile. This information will help distinguish a loading failure from incompatibility or the extension’s own settings.
Check readiness for work
-
The needed extension is present in the manager and enabled.
-
After launch, it appears on chrome://extensions in the required profile.
-
Its main function works on the working website.
-
Sign-in to the service and permissions are configured where required.
-
When adding in bulk, you checked the entire set, not only the first extension.
For the next extension, repeat the same procedure: add it through the manager, check it in a profile, and perform the necessary setup. If the tool later starts interfering with work, disable it first for testing; delete it when you have decided to stop using it.
